Hospital Information Systems
Hospital Information Systems (medical records) department contributes to the excellence of patient care by providing clinical information through the maintenance of complete medical records and collection of patient data. HIS ensures the ethical use of information by maintaining confidentiality of clinical and research information.
HIS provides the following services:
- Compilation, analysis and maintenance of a medical record for each patient dating back to the first hospital admission of 1911.
- Patient census and protocol tracking
- Collection of patient demographic information
- ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding
- Transcription
The Rockefeller University Hospital is committed to protecting the confidentiality of health information that it receives and maintains. RUH will disclose health information only if required or permitted under applicable state and federal laws and regulation and RUH policies.
